McBee Elementary principal named

Most recently, Mr. Pletcher has served as the assistant principal at McBee Elementary School. Prior to his appointment as assistant principal, he served as a Literacy Coach at Cheraw Intermediate School.

Mr. Pletcher is certified as an elementary principal in the state of South Carolina. He earned a Bachelors’ Degree in Elementary Education from Pennsylvania State University. In 2003, Mr. Pletcher earned a Masters’ Degree in Creative Arts from Lesley University. In 2009, Mr. Pletcher earned a second Masters’ Degree in Administrative Leadership from Capella University.

In addition to his academic degrees, Mr. Pletcher has had extensive training in leadership. He has been a member of the district’s Aspiring Principal Program and has participated in leadership development programs at the state level. He also has had extensive training in instruction, while serving as a Literacy Coach. According to district superintendent, Dr. Harrison Goodwin, “Mr. Pletcher’s instructional background, coupled with the positive relationships he has forged with the McBee Elementary staff, students, parents and community, has prepared him to lead the school well into the future. 

Mr. Pletcher states, “I am excited to become the next principal at the school that I love. I am very grateful for the opportunity to lead the staff, students and all McBee Elementary stakeholders. The potential we have at our school is very promising and I truly believe that, with the efforts of all, the staff will take flight and our students will blossom right before our very eyes.”
