Now in its 34th year, the 7th Grade Talent Search identifies bright seventh graders based on standardized test scores achieved while attending middle school. Candidates are invited to take the ACT or the SAT college entrance exams as seventh graders, which allows them greater insight into their academic abilities. In addition, they gain valuable benefits and have access to unique resources for gifted students.
Students receive Duke TIP recognition by scoring at or above the national average of recent high school graduates on at least one part of the ACT or the SAT. These students were invited to a special recognition ceremony held at a university in our state. The following students were recognized: From Chesterfield-Ruby Middle School, Miss Jodi Alese Hatcher, the daughter of Craig and Laura Hatcher,
Miss Madison Blair Quick, the daughter of Marty Quick and Lisa Courtney and
Mr. Nicholas Christopher Robins the son of David and Susan Robins. From New Heights Middle School,
Miss Aleah Hope Nicholson, the daughter of Michael and Tammy Nicholson, Miss Caitlyn Hope Nicholson, the daughter of Michael and Tammy Nicholson and Miss Genna Katherine Rivers, the daughter of Anthony and Rhonda Rivers.
