We are excited to announce that we adopted ParentSquare for school-to-home communication for all Chesterfield County Schools. This unified communications platform is designed to keep parents and guardians informed and encourage greater engagement and connection with CCSD. It provides a safe way for district administrators, school principals, teachers, staff, and parents to:

How do I sign up or opt-in to receive messages and notifications?
You don’t have to take any action to receive emails, texts or phone calls. Powerschool, our student information system syncs contact information directly with ParentSquare.
Parents who do create a ParentSquare account can also interact by viewing photos, downloading attachments, leaving comments, messaging teachers, signing permission slips and managing communication preferences.
How will I ce contacted, and how can I opt out?You can choose to receive messages via email, text, voice and/or the app. While you can opt-out of any of these methods of communication, the district has the discretion to override opt-outs for urgent messages and alerts.
Can I access communications for more than one of my students from the same account?
Yes. The first time that you log into the app or web portal, all of your students should automatically be listed in the upper left hand corner. If you don’t see them, please contact your student's school.
Can I change the email and/or cell phone number on my account?
Yes, you can update your contact information, but not directly in ParentSquare. To update your contact information:
Step 1: Log in to Final Forms and update your email and/or phone number.
Step 2: Call your student's school and let them know you updated your information.If you are unable to login to final forms or have further questions, you may reach out to your student's school for help. Please allow up to 48 hours after the new information has been entered for it to update in ParentSquare
What type of Messages will I get?
ParentSquare allows the district, schools and teachers to send messages in a variety of ways.
1. One method is a post that would only go to the district, or your school’s “feed” in the ParentSquare app or web portal, similar to a feed post you would see on a social media platform. The district, your student's school or teacher also could choose to send that post to parents/guardians in the form of a text or email.
2. Staff can choose to send a private message to one or more users. For example, a teacher may send a private message regarding a specific student’s homework assignment or upcoming conference.
3. A “smart alert” sent at the district and school level — things like newsletters, messages from the superintendent or other district leaders and messages about special programs. They can be sent via text, email or phone call.
4. The final category is an “urgent smart alert.” These messages will be sent via text, email and phone call and include inclement weather notifications and health and safety issues.
Why am I not receiving emails?
First, double check that your email is correct. If your information is correct, please check your spam to see if any ParentSquare messages ended up there and mark them as "Not Spam." Also add donotreply@parentsquare.com to your email contacts so your server recognizes ParentSquare messages. If you still aren’t receiving emails, please contact ParentSquare support at support@parentsquare.com so that they can assist you.
How do I change my password?
Please go to parentsquare.com and on the login page, click "Forgot Password." Put in your email or phone number, and you’ll be sent a link to reset your password.
English is not my first language. How can I receive content in my native language?
You can customize your language settings by going to "My Account" and clicking "Change This" under language settings. From there, you can choose any language that you prefer from the drop-down menu, and you’ll start to receive content in that language. If your language preference is listed in PowerSchool, ParentSquare will automatically update your language.
I am getting too many messages from ParentSquare. Is it possible to receive fewer notifications?
You can customize your notification settings by going to your homepage and clicking on your name in the top right corner and selecting "My Account" from the drop-down menu. On your account page, you find your notification settings in the top right corner and click "Change This" to customize your notifications. If you’re receiving too many notifications, try changing to "digest" setting, meaning you’ll only receive one condensed message in the evening. Is it possible to contact my child's teacher directly and privately?
Yes, you can contact your child's teacher privately by using the direct messaging tool. On the home page, click on "Messaging" in the left sidebar. From there, you can send a direct message to your child's teacher that only you and the teacher can see. You also can send messages to other staff members at the school, such as your child's coaches and club leaders. You can send these messages in your preferred language; the messages will arrive to staff in English. Here is a link to our help page on direct messaging.
How do I combine/merge accounts?
Sometimes users will need to merge accounts together. Sometimes parents with more than one child will have multiple accounts because parent information didn’t match (name, email, phone). Many staff members are also parents, and will have a staff account and a personal parent account. You can combine accounts so everything is in one place.
- Log in to your main ParentSquare account.
- Click your name in upper right and select My Account.
- Click Combine with another account.
- If there are any accounts matching your verified email(s) or phone(s), a page with recommended users will appear:
a. Click Combine Accounts, confirm any additional contacts on the account, and click Combine Accounts.
b. If you do not see the account you want listed, click Combine Another Account. - Log in to the other ParentSquare account you want to combine.
- Select name to use on your account and click Combine Accounts.
Your accounts are now combined. The next time you login to ParentSquare, you will be able to access your account using any of the associated email addresses or phone numbers on your combined account.
