In an effort to support this change in instructional model, the SDE has purchased plexiglass partitions for our district to use in classrooms that are too small to achieve the recommended 6 feet of social distancing. These plexiglass panels have been vetted for use in schools by the SCDHEC to allow seating with 3 feet distancing with masks.
Our school district will be moving our primary, elementary, and intermediate schools to a 5 day a week face-to-face schedule beginning Monday November 2. These schools will move to the 5 day a week model first since students in these grades stay in “cohorts” throughout the day.
The district has adequate bus capacity to make this instructional model change and still operate buses under the SDE required 66% maximum capacity.
Of course, we will continue to monitor both SCDHEC and SDE guidance and, if conditions change, we will make adjustments accordingly.
Below you will find information related to instructional schedules for the upcoming weeks.
All schools in Chesterfield County will remain on the A-B Hybrid schedule for the weeks of October 19 and October 26. Please note that Monday October 19 is a staff development day and students will not attend school. (see the photo for more details)
