District names new Director of Exceptional Children

Hudley has served as a professional educator in the Chesterfield County School District since 1999. From 1999 to 2006, she served as a Speech Therapist and provided parents and teachers with information necessary to help students with communication needs to access the curriculum in academic environments and functional skills in social environments.

In 2006, Hudley began serving as the district’s Lead Speech Pathologist. She has worked with students at the high school, middle school, and elementary school levels. She has also worked closely with the community, district administrators, principals and staff from the South Carolina Department of Education throughout her professional career.

In 1999, Hudley earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Pathology from Columbia College. In 2003, she earned a Masters Degree in Communication Disorders from the University of South Carolina. She continued her education and earned a Master of Education Degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University in 2007. She is licensed in the state of South Carolina to serve as an elementary, secondary principal and supervisor. She also holds a certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.

“I’ve worked with our exceptional needs students and their families for more than 20 years,” Hudley says. “I am excited to be able to continue to serve this population as Director of Exceptional Children. I look forward to working with our outstanding exceptional needs department to provide quality instruction that our students deserve. We will all work together to ensure that all of our students reach their maximum potential.”

“Mrs. Hudley has proven experience in working and collaborating with teachers, parents, school and district administrators throughout our school district,” says Chesterfield County School District Superintendent Dr. Harrison Goodwin. “This leadership position is a good fit for her, and she will certainly be a major contributor as we accomplish the goals that we have set for our students.”

Hudley officially begins on July 1.
