With “Students First” as his guiding principle, Dr. Anderson is committed to increasing the safety of all schools and growth of every child, as the Superintendent of Chesterfield County School District.

 

Dr. Anderson’s career in public education has spanned 28 years, previously serving as the district’s assistant superintendent. Throughout his career in South Carolina and Florida, he has served as an elementary teacher, middle school and high school basketball coach, assistant principal, principal and district administrator. Dr. Anderson has been a graduate instructor in school law, curriculum and instructional leadership, HR management and district strategic leadership. He has also served as a consultant and trainer for school leaders across the state and throughout the country.

Dr. Anderson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Claflin University. He earned his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. He also earned an Educational Specialist degree and a Doctorate degree in Educational Administration from Wingate University.

Dr. Anderson has been married for 25 years, he and his wife have two children. Both his wife and daughter are also professional educators. While his son is currently in college pursuing his degree in middle school education.
