Dr. Chan Anderson
In his second year as the superintendent of Chesterfield County School District, Dr. Anderson continues his commitment to increasing the safety of all schools and growth of every child. As a public educator for 29 years, he has served in South Carolina and Florida, as an elementary teacher, basketball coach, assistant principal, principal and district administrator. He has also served as a graduate instructor and consultant for school leaders throughout the country.
Dr. Anderson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Claflin University. He earned his Masters’ degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. He also earned an Educational Specialist degree and a Doctorate degree in Educational Administration from Wingate University.
Dr. Anderson has been married for 26 years, he and his wife have two children. Both his wife and daughter are also professional educators. While his son is currently in college pursuing his degree in middle school education.
