Malachi named the principal of Cheraw High

Before becoming the assistant principal at Cheraw Primary, Dr. Malachi served as the Director of the Palmetto Learning Center’s Alternative Program. He also served as a guidance counselor at Cheraw High School for four years. 

 

Dr. Malachi is a licensed secondary administrator in the state of South Carolina.  In 1997, he earned his Bachelors’ Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina. In 2004, he earned his Master of Arts’ Degree in School Counseling from the University of South Carolina. In 2020, Dr. Malachi earned his Doctorate Degree in School Administration from Wingate University.

 

According to Dr. Harrison Goodwin, Superintendent of the Chesterfield County School District, “Dr. Malachi’s counseling, administrative and community background has prepared him to meet the needs of students, parents and staff at Cheraw High School.  Equally, his experience in working at multiple school levels provides him with a unique perspective and extensive understanding of freshmen entering high school, as well as seniors preparing to exit and enter college or the workforce.”

 

Dr. Malachi states, “As I walked the halls of Cheraw High years ago, never could I have imagined becoming the principal. Now that this time has come, I am ready to lead the Cheraw Family to greater heights. With the help of our staff and community, our students will receive a quality educational experience that will prepare them to be successful and competitive regardless of the avenue they pursue in life.
