Jennifer Byrd of McBee High, Temest Harris of Pageland Elementary and Melissa Winburn of McBee Elementary were chosen from among the 16 schools’ teacher of the year winners. Byrd, Harris and Winburn were selected after a panel of judges evaluated them on a myriad of components. The district’s teacher of the year will be chosen by another set of judges from outside of the county.
“The teachers in our district are among the hardest working around. These 16 teachers are a reflection of the good work that our teachers are doing and a credit to their profession.
