Mrs. Gillespie obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Winthrop University and joined the Cheraw High School faculty in 1999 as a Biology teacher. After obtaining her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina, Mrs. Gillespie became the Coordinator of Alternative Learning at the Palmetto Learning Center in 2009. In 2010, she accepted the assistant principal position at Long Middle School. In 2011, Mrs. Gillespie returned to Cheraw High School where she currently serves as an assistant principal. She also serves as a site coordinator for the Adult Education program on the Cheraw High School campus.
Mrs. Gillespie is married to DeWayne Gillespie and they have two sons Devin, a 2022 Cheraw High graduate and Diesel, a Cheraw Primary student.
