Online Exploitation of Students:

Superintendent Weaver received the attached letter and press release from South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, who asked for the Department’s help in alerting district and school personnel to some growing threats in the online exploitation of children. These online actors encourage students to produce violent/graphic content and often encourage self-harm and suicide.
CCSD has shared his letter with our school staff , school resource officers, teachers, and now with our parents/guardians, as it will require everybody working together to keep each of our students safe from online predators. The Attorney General’s office stands ready to provide follow-up resources, training, and support to any school district who may need it.
