Board Chair Mrs. Kim Burch said, “On behalf of Chesterfield County School Board, we are thrilled to welcome Dr. Chris Ballenger to the beginning of a new chapter in the education of our students. We look forward to exciting days ahead with new perspectives and opportunities for Chesterfield County School District. Dr. Ballenger will be a part of the growth our county is experiencing and will guide the District through this process.
“Please take this opportunity to join us in welcoming Dr. Chris Ballenger and his wife to Chesterfield County. We are elated they will make Chesterfield County their home.”
Dr. Ballenger commented following the Board’s vote, “I would like to thank the Chesterfield County School Board for this exciting opportunity. I look forward to working alongside each of you as we continue to expand upon an already great school system. Together, we will prepare all students to be productive citizens in a changing society by setting high expectations and support structures.
“I also look forward to collaborating with the district leadership, educators, staff, students, families, and community members to build a strong educational system that meets the needs of every single student. I am confident that together, we can foster an inclusive, innovative, and academically excellent environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged.
“As I transition to Chesterfield County, I will be hosting school and community events where I can engage with stakeholders to learn more about the school system and the communities across this wonderful county. I would like to personally invite all staff and community members to join me at these events.
“Chesterfield County is a place that just pulls you in. It is a place where people care and support one another. It is a place where I am excited to live, work, and play for many years to come. I look forward to serving the Chesterfield County School District and the entire school community.”
