Long Middle School receives Palmetto State Arts Education Award

Cheraw, SC — Long Middle School, has been awarded the 2025 School of Excellence in Arts Education Award by Palmetto State Arts Education (PSAE). Under the leadership of Principal Carolyn Caldwell, Long Middle has created a dynamic, arts-integrated environment that deeply enriches the learning experience for all students. The award is given annually to honor a school that has done an outstanding job of making the arts essential to the education of their students. This state level award provides an important opportunity to honor schools and the role they play in providing a creative learning environment for outstanding student achievement. Jenny Kabool, Executive Director of the Palmetto State Arts Education (PSAE), praised the school for its achievements: “Long Middle exemplifies how the arts can transform not only academic outcomes but also the lives of students and the entire school community. Their innovative approach sets a benchmark for arts education across the state.” Long Middle School was recognized at the PSAE Conference held in Greenville on October
