This money will be used for an overnight field trip to Charleston that the students will take next year as third graders. The students will enter into a new learning environment that makes third grade Science and Social Studies standards real for them. Students will visit the South Carolina Aquarium, Boone Hall Plantation, and Fort Moultrie.
Also, they will take a boat ride out to an island with Sandlapper Tours and take a walking tour of Historic Charleston. This grant money will allow students the opportunity to experience parts of South Carolina History that they may not otherwise be able to experience.
