Some students and staff dressed as their favorite book characters. When asked why he dressed as "The Cat in the Hat", Brandon Myers said, "I like the book The Cat in the Hat and Dr. Suess inspired me to read more and become a better writer."
Teacher Nancy Wagnon dressed as Captain Underpants, stating, "Everybody needs a superhero."
Other costumes included Fly Guy, Incredible Hulk, Ninja Turtles and Katniss Everdeen.
During the read-in, it was peaceful and quiet. Students enjoyed several hours of reading and relaxing. The staff members also enjoyed reading and relaxing.
When students went to the parade, many students dressed as movie characters. Other characters were from book novels that were the basis of movies.
