Edwards holds 'Farm Day'

Many volunteers made this day successful.  Clemson Extension agents brought a variety of farm animals for the children to see and pet.  Students learned how these animals are used to produce food and make money.   Local farmers brought large and small equipment used in farming for the children to see.  Students learned how these machines work and how they used in growing different crops.  Local retailers of farm products explained how farm products are marketed for the consumer. Chesterfield Soil and Water Conservation, and Natural Resources Conservation attended and gave each student a longleaf pine seedling to plant at home.   Finally, students had a chance to research what farmers wear in their work and were encouraged to dress as a farmer.

Farm Day was coordinated by Guidance Counselor Michele Davis and Clemson Extension Agent Amber Starnes.
