The members were given the opportunity at the Expo Center to meet someone from each of the 50 states and the 2 territories. Students were able to meet college representatives and many sponsors of the FFA; including RAM trucks, Monsanto, and Tractor Supply Company. Through meeting these companies and colleges, members were able to explore many career and education opportunities.
In the Convention Hall, we heard from Dr. Rick Rigsby and Amberley Snyder whom were two very inspiring keynote speakers. Through their personal tragedies and accomplishments we were shown to always strive to make a positive impact in all situations and ‘amplify’ our everyday lives. We also heard retiring addresses from the National Officers who were preparing to hand over their offices to a new set of officers.
While in Kentucky, we were given the chance to visit Churchill Downs. During this visit we were told about the history of the races; including the jockeys, horses, and attendees. We were also able to tour the museum that offered other learning opportunities, which included famous outfits and hats worn, trophies and awards, life size replicas and much more.
