Channel 9 asks viewers to drop off school supplies to their postal box. Renewing the partnership with the USPS is a huge benefactor for surrounding counties this year. There are over 265,000 students benefitting from a free and reduced lunch program in our 22 county DMA and if families can’t afford food they can’t afford school supplies. This will be a large scale effort involving ALL of our 22 counties. The promotion will ask viewers to leave donated school supplies at their mailboxes on Saturday, August 18th and letter carriers will pick them up, again benefitting that specific county.
