Camp Create open for registration
CAMP CREATE is a 4-Day technology camp sponsored by the Career and Technical Education Department of Chesterfield County School District. All rising 6th - 8th grade students for the 2017-2018 school year are eligible to attend. Students will use a variety of technology including Apple iMac computers and iLife software, as well as digital cameras and Apple iPads.
Photography
Students will get an opportunity to learn about the Mac computer and some of the cool applications included to capture digital images and media. We will spend time exploring the campus with digital cameras on a Photo Scavenger Hunt.
Audio
Students will get an opportunity to make some NOISE! We will explore iTunes and learn how to organize our digital library of music, podcasts, and videos. We will also create some original music and voice recordings in Apple’s GarageBand.
Video
Students will get an opportunity to create the next big blockbuster movie! We will spend time shooting some video footage and then editing the footage into a short video with iMovie. We will take our movies and share them over the web. Cameras ready...ACTION!
iPad
Students will get an opportunity to use an iPad. We will explore a variety of educational and production apps...as well as have a little fun playing multi-touch games. Be careful because Temple Run can be ADDICTIVE!!
Dates / Location / Cost / Personal Devices
CAMP CREATE will be offered at Cheraw High School from July 10 - 13, 2017 (Monday - Thursday). Each day of camp will run from 8:30AM until 3:00PM. Breakfast and lunch, as well as snacks will be provided to each student, however students are also welcomed to bring their own lunch. Cost of the 4-Day technology camp is $75. Students are welcome to bring personal technology devices. To transfer digital media (photos, videos, etc.) to the school computers, you may wish to bring compatible cables and cords.
