Jefferson Elementary recognized for performance

The Title I Reward School for Performance designation recognizes high poverty schools that have shown exceptional academic performance. The recognition comes with a $5000 grant from the South Carolina State Department of Education for further training and staff development opportunities for the staff of Jefferson Elementary. In addition, the school will be recognized at the state Title I conference next fall.

“Our district is extremely proud of this designation for Jefferson Elementary and this is a validation of the hard work by the students and staff,” says Chesterfield County Superintendent Dr. Harrison Goodwin. “This distinction demonstrates our belief that we can be a school district that is focused on maximum achievement, regardless of ability, socioeconomic background or class.”
