McBee High School Art student Sophomore Travis Pait’s artwork was chosen to be on display at Heritage Bank in McBee as part of the grant awarded to the McBee High school Art department in the spring of 2014 for its high quality.

Pageland Elementary treats readers

Pageland Elementary School recently treated student readers to a Book Bash picnic for reading ten or more books over the summer.

The students also kept up summaries in a journal about the books that they read.

The Office of Justice Programs’ National Institute of Justice (NIJ) today announced it has awarded a $2.46 million award to Chesterfield County School District to be used on the “Integrative Models: PBIS and Olweus Bully Prevention” project through the Comprehensive School Safety Initiative (CSSI).

AdvancEd team recommends accreditation

The Chesterfield County School District has been fully re-accredited for another five years by a visiting team of AdvancEd evaluators.

The team recently spent time in the district reviewing the schools and made their recommendation during an exit meeting with district administration and school board members.

District names Distinguished Reading Teacher

At the beginning of September, principals at each school in Chesterfield County nominated a Distinguished Reading Teacher to represent their schools. These teachers encourage the love of reading as a lifelong habit and are continually promoting literacy among their students. Their classrooms are literacy rich environments where students are immersed in reading and writing every day.
