District to kick off United Way campaign in November

The Chesterfield County School District will soon begin their annual United Way campaign.
The campaign, in conjunction with the Chesterfield County United Way, will kick off Nov. 8. The district is looking to surpass the near $9000 raised in 2013.

Board completes superintendent evaluation

The Chesterfield County School Board of Trustees met in executive session on Monday evening, October 13, 2014 for the purpose of beginning the annual evaluation of Harrison Goodwin, the District Superintendent. The School Board met again on Monday evening, October 27, 2014 to continue the evaluation process and concluded this evaluation on November 10, 2014. This process is required by the board’s employment agreement with the superintendent and district policy.

McBee golf wins state title

The Lady Panthers captured the state 1A/2A state girls’ golf title in dominating fashion last week. McBee finished 50 strokes ahead of second place finisher Bishop England in the two-day tournament held Oct. 20-21 at Black Bear Golf Course in Myrtle Beach.

The Chesterfield High School Marching PRIDE wrapped up their competitive season on Saturday, October 25th, 2014 by winning the 2014 SCBDA Class A State Marching Band Championship held at Batesburg-Leesville High School.

McBee teacher awarded grant

Voya Financial, Inc. which has rebranded from ING U.S. and is a leading provider of retirement plans for educators, announced last week that Laura Stasenko a second grade teacher at McBee Elementary School has received a $2,000 grant as part of the company’s 2014 Unsung Heroes awards competition.
