At Chesterfield County School District, we recognize that every student’s path to success is unique. We are dedicated to supporting our families by providing clear, accessible options for those seeking a learning environment outside of their assigned school zone.
Whether you are joining our community for the first time or requesting a change in placement, this page serves as your guide to the transfer process.
Transfer Categories
The Student Transfer Form may be used for any of the following categories:

Out of Attendance Area: For families residing within Chesterfield County who wish to attend a district school other than their neighborhood-assigned school.

Out of District: For students who live outside of Chesterfield County but wish to enroll in our school system.

Note: Tuition for Out of District students remains $2,600.00 per child, per school year.

New Transfer: For any student who is transferring into the district for the first time.

Renewal: For students currently attending a school on an Out of Attendance or Out of District placement who wish to continue for the upcoming school year.

Release: For families seeking a formal release from an existing Out of Attendance or Out of District agreement.
