Chesterfield County School District is committed to the success of every student. Our Exceptional Children department provides specially designed instruction and related services to ensure that students with unique learning needs have full access to a high-quality education.

We believe that special education is not a place, but a set of individualized supports. By working closely with families, educators, and community partners, we develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that focus on a student’s strengths while addressing their specific challenges. Our goal is to foster independence, academic growth, and social-emotional well-being in the least restrictive environment possible.
