Frequently Asked Questions

  • ParentSquare allows users to customize their notifications based on notification type and select their preferred delivery method for each school. The Instant setting will send all post notifications in real-time. The Digest setting sends direct messages, alerts, and time-sensitive posts instantly, but sends all non-time sensitive posts at the end of the day, reducing the number of notifications you receive daily. (We recommend the Digest setting.) Learn more about managing notifications.

  • Yes. All parents have a ParentSquare account. ParentSquare is the primary tool for district and school communication. Individuals who do not activate their account in ParentSquare will still receive an email digest at the end of each day that communication is sent out to them. In the event of emergencies, phone calls will be sent as well.

  • Click the Unsubscribe link on your email from ParentSquare, or reply STOP to the SMS from ParentSquare to stop notifications to your email or phone.

**** If the email or phone number is not recognized by ParentSquare, parents can call the school office attendance/registar’s clerk and ask them to update the contact information.

  • You don’t have to take any action to receive emails, texts or phone calls. Powerschool, our student information system syncs contact information directly with ParentSquare.

Parents who do create a ParentSquare account can also interact by viewing photos, downloading attachments, leaving comments, and managing communication preferences.

  • You can choose to receive messages via email, text, voice and/or the app. While you can opt-out of any of these methods of communication, the district has the discretion to override opt-outs for urgent messages and alerts.

  • Yes. The first time that you log into the app or web portal, all of your students should automatically be listed in the upper left hand corner. If you don’t see them, please contact your student's school.

  • Yes, you can update your contact information, but not directly in ParentSquare.  To update your contact information:

Step 1: Log in to Final Forms and update your email and/or phone number.
Step 2:  Call your student's school and let them know you updated your information.

If you are unable to login to final forms or have further questions, you may reach out to your student's school for help.   Please allow up to 48 hours after the new information has been entered for it to update in ParentSquare.

  • ParentSquare allows the to send messages in a variety of ways.

    1.  One method is a post that would only go to the district, or your school’s “feed” in the ParentSquare app or web portal, similar to a feed post you would see on a social media platform. The district, your student's school or teacher also could choose to send that post to parents/guardians in the form of a text or email.

    2.   A “smart alert” sent at the district and school level — things like newsletters, messages from the superintendent or other district leaders and messages about special programs. They can be sent via text, email or phone call.

    3.  The final category is an “urgent smart alert.” These messages will be sent via text, email and phone call and include inclement weather notifications and health and safety issues.

  • First, double check that your email is correct. If your information is correct, please check your spam to see if any ParentSquare messages ended up there and mark them as "Not Spam." Also add donotreply@parentsquare.com to your email contacts so your server recognizes ParentSquare messages. If you still aren’t receiving emails, please contact ParentSquare support at support@parentsquare.com so that they can assist you.

  • Please go to parentsquare.com and on the login page, click "Forgot Password." Put in your email or phone number, and you’ll be sent a link to reset your password.

  • You can customize your language settings by going to "My Account" and clicking "Change This" under language settings. From there, you can choose any language that you prefer from the drop-down menu, and you’ll start to receive content in that language. If your language preference is listed in PowerSchool, ParentSquare will automatically update your language.

  • You can customize your notification settings by going to your homepage and clicking on your name in the top right corner and selecting "My Account" from the drop-down menu. On your account page, you find your notification settings in the top right corner and click "Change This" to customize your notifications. If you’re receiving too many notifications, try changing to "digest" setting, meaning you’ll only receive one condensed message in the evening. Here is a help article on changing your notification settings.
