CCSD recognizes new SC junior scholars

Chesterfield County School District is pleased to recognize the following students for being newly identified as South Carolina Junior Scholars. This program was developed by the South Carolina Department of Education in 1986 to identify eighth grade students with exceptional academic talent and to develop strategies for inclusion into special programs.

Jefferson student wins spelling bee

Chesterfield County School District had their annual District Spelling Bee on Thursday, January 14. The district used the writing option instead of the oral spelling this year. It was also held virtually through Zoom. Beth Hough was the pronouncer. She pronounced 25 words with their origin, definition and sentence. Once all 25 words were shared, the monitors scored the spelling forms for the correct number of words.

Friday, Jan. 15 to be a full 'learn from home' day

We are continuing to monitor the impacts of Covid 19 on our school district as it relates to positive cases and quarantines. We appreciate the dedication and efforts of all our district employees to provide a safe learning environment for our students. While we have seen a rise in positive cases among both staff and students since the beginning of December, the more significant rise we have seen has been related to student and staff quarantines.

Instructional reminders as the holidays end

Jan 3, 2021: As we close out the holiday break, we would like to remind you of some important information related to upcoming schedules for our virtual and face-to-face instruction students.

Middle, high schools to continue hybrid model

We would like to remind you of some important information related to upcoming schedules for our face-to-face instruction students.

Our primary, elementary, and intermediate schools will continue 5 day a week face to face instruction through winter break.

Our middle and high school students will remain on the A-B hybrid schedule through winter break.

Long Middle to operate as scheduled

A rumor has been circulating on social media about Long Middle School's operation on Monday, Nov. 23. Long Middle School WILL OPERATE on Monday, Nov 23 as planned. Rumors that suggest otherwise are NOT true.

Parents asked to communicate second semester intentions

Beginning today Chesterfield County School District will be asking parents to communicate their intentions for second semester of the 2020-21 school year. An electronic form is available for completion online to express whether students would like to remain enrolled in virtual school or return to face-to-face instruction.
