Artistically Gifted & Talented
The mission of Chesterfield County School District is to prepare all students to be productive citizens in a changing society by continuously improving and implementing educational processes with ongoing community support.
September/October: Parents and Teachers can nominate students in grades 3-5 using the online form.
When nominating a student, you will need to select Artistic or Academic. A student may be nominated for both, and students who are already identified as GT Academic may also be nominated for GT Artistic.
October/November: School Level Screenings
March: Students will submit an art portfolio or music audition for consideration into the program.

Effective curriculum and instruction for gifted and talented students incorporates the following components:
- Help gifted and talented students learn more deeply and move at a pace and level that matched their abailities.
- To help students understand the key ideas, themes, and connections within each subject.
- To help students understand become independent learners and researchers.
- To help students think critically and creatively, solve problems, make decisions, and reflect on their learning.
- To help students clearly communicate complex ideas and connections.
The ALPHA Arts program is made up of several different learning opportunities for GT arts students throughout the year including a summer program.
